RED CLOVER-Trifolium pratense L.
Red clover is a two to three-year-old plant and the most widespread species of clover. It thrives best in a humid climate on medium-heavy and slightly acidic soils. We sow it as a clean crop or in a mixture with grasses. We use the yield of red clover together with grasses for fresh fodder, hay and silage. It gives a very high-quality fodder, rich especially in protein, mineral substances and vitamins. In a full year of growth, we can produce four mowing.
